Stephen Bailes
Stephen's father was
George James Bailes and his mother was
Florence Goody. He had two brothers and three sisters, named
George,
Joseph,
Florence,
Anne and
Maud.
When his mother died he was cared for by other members of the family. We believe that as his children's surname is Sumner that he may have been adopted and have changed his own surname to Sumner.
After his mother's death Joe was placed in the care of an aunt.
