1881 Census shows she was 38 years of age, born in Whitchapel, London and living at 1 Ewing Street, Mile End Old town, London.
1891 Census shows that she was 49 years of age, born in Dalston, Middlesex and living at 13 Lillian Street, Stoke Newington, London with her daughters Julia Cowen and Emily Hawkins.  Mary Ann's husband Alfred Brandon Goody was not shown as living at this address but the 1901 Census shows that he was living at 19 Vansittart Road, Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex with Margaret Goody.  We have not been able to find Alfred marrying Margaret and we believe that he has deserted Mary Ann and gone to live with Margaret.
