Male Walter Goody

Walter was born in 1846.  Walter's father was Peter Goody and his mother was Emma Kemp.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Goody and Mahala Argent. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, David, William, Susannah and Maria.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Charles and Emma.

General Notes

Birth was registered between April-June 1846 in Halstead Registration District.
Christened in St Margarets Church, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex on 14th March 1847 by Charles Fisher.
1851 Census shows that he was 4 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in Fox Beer Housae, Belchamp St Pauls, Suffolk.  His name is shown as WALTER GOODEY in this census.
1861 census shows he was 14 years old, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living at Church Lane, Ridgewell, Essex.
1871 Census shows that he was 26 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in 72 Blackfriars Road, Southwark, London.
1881 Census shows that he was 36 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and boarding in the Carpenters Arms, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth, Essex.
1891 Census shows that he was 44 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in 106 Farringdon Road, London.
On 29th April 1896 he took out a mortgage on the Salmon & Ball Public House with Combe & Company Limited.  The value of the mortage was £32,000. He was living at 70 Northumberland Park, Tottenham, London at the time.
1901 Census states he was 54 yrs old of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living at The Salmon and Ball Public House, 502 Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green, London.
1902 National Probate and Wills records show that probate was awarded to Mary Ann Goody, widow on 13th March for effects valued at £4640 4s 5d

1881 Census shows that he was a General Labourer.
1891 Census shows that he was a Licensed Victualler.
1901 Census shows that he was the Licensed Victualler of Salmon & Ball Public House in Bethnal Green.

Death Notes

Death was registered between Jan-Mar 1902 in Bethnal Green Registration District.
He was residing at Salmon and Ball public house, 502 Bethnal Green Road, Middlesex at the time of his death. Died at the age of 56 on February 17th, 1902.

Walter's family with Mary Ann Ungley

Walter and Mary were married on September 16th, 1889.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Sidney, Charles, Leslie, Mary, Ivy and Olive.
Marriage was registered between July-Sept in Epping Registration District.
They were married on 16th September in Chingford, Essex.
