General Notes

Parish records at the time of his marriage to Susanna show that his father's name was Thomas Henry White and he was a Blacksmith.  They also show that he was from Sible Hedingham, Essex.
We understand that he was born in Sible Hedingham in 1833.
We received a message on our guestbook with the following information:
My Great grandfather was Albert Thomas White, son of William John White and Susanna Goody. His daughter Mabel Evelyn (born 1895) is my grandmother, who married an Australian WW1 Anzac. They met while Edward (Ted) Lay was in a Military Hospital, where May was a VAC. Following their marriage Ted returned to Australia. Later on Nana, who was a War Bride and their first born son sailed for Australia. My grandfather took up a Soldiers Settlers block where they raised 7 children on the farm.

William and Susanna were married on November 6th, 1860.
Marriage was registered between Oct-Dec 1860 in Halstead Registration District under the surname Goodey.
Parish records show they were married in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex on 6th November 1860 by Charles Burney and  her name is spelt Susannah Goodey.
The witnesses were Frederick Goodey, William Carr, Elizabeth Goodey and Susan Harrington.
She had 9 children as follows:
