Parish records show that she was a spinster of full age.  Her father's name was Joseph Brett and he was a Labourer at the time of her marriage.
1851 Census shows that she was George's Housekeeper, 29 years of age, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living at Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex with George, his daughter Susannah (by Mahala), her daughter Anna and we believe their child George who was born before they were married.
1861 census shows she was 39 years old, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living at Brickley Green, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1871 Census shows that she was 48 years of age, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living in Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1881 census shows she was 59 years of age, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living at Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1891 census shows she was 67 years of age, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living at Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1901 census shows that she was 79 years of age, born in Little Burstead, Essex and living in Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.

1871 Census shows that she was a Straw Plaiter.

Death was registered between April-June 1907 in Halstead Registration District.  Parish records show that she was buried at St Margarets Church, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex on 15th April 1907. Died at the age of 85 in 1907. Mary and George were married on November 19th, 1854.  They had three sons and three daughters, named William, Robert, John, Anna, Mahala and Jane.
