Alice was born in 1864. Alice's father was
Samuel Goody and her mother is
Elizabeth Appleby. Her paternal grandparents were
Thomas Goody and
Mary Ann King. She had four brothers and five sisters, named

Harriet,
Phillis,
Elizabeth and
Kate. She is the fifth oldest of the ten children.
Birth was registered between July-Sept 1863 in Lexden Registration District.
1871 Census shows that she was 7 years of age, born in Layer de la Haye, Essex and living in Great Wigborough, Essex under the surname GOODEY.
