Male Horace James Goodey

Horace was born on April 30th, 1896.  Horace's father was Walter James Goody and his mother was Margaret Mary Collins.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Goody and Eliza Malster. He had two brothers and six sisters, named George, Arthur, Elsie, Margaret, Lily , Dorothy, Gracie  and Ivy .  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.

Birth was registered between April-June 1896 in Colchester Registration District under the surname GOODEY.
Parish records show that he was christened in St Andrews Church, Fingringhoe, Essex on 20th September 1896 by C L Walker under the surname GOODY.
1901 Census shows he was 4 years of age, born in Colchester, Essex and living at Old Heath, Colchester, Essex.
1911 Census shows that he was 14 years of age, born in Colchester, Essex and living at The Royal Deaf and Dumb Asylum, Asylum for Deaf and Dumb Children, Victoria Road, Margate, Kent.
1939 Register shows that he was living in 32 Fingringhoe Road, Colchester, Essex. The register shows his date of birth as 9th April 1896.
1962 National Probate and Will records show the following:
GOODY Horace James of Belmont Mersea Avenue West Mersea Essex died 23 March 1962 at Black Notley Hospital Essex Probate Ipswich 27 April to Ivy Blanche Thorp widow.  Effects: £104 15s.

Death Notes
