Gertrude Maude Goody
Gertrude was born in 1898. Gertrude's father was
Charles Edward Goody and her mother is
Alice Maud Halls. Her paternal grandparents are
William Goody and
Hannah Fisher. She had a brother and a sister, named
Alfred and
Florence. She is the youngest of the three children.
Birth was registered between Jan-Mar 1898 in Colchester Registration District.
Parish records show that she was christened on 22nd December 1899 in St Giles Church, Colchester, Essex by Henry Ruslidge, Curate on the same day as her brother Alfred Thomas. The family were living at 1 Dorset Place, Colchester, Essex at the time.
1901 Census shows she was born in Colchester and living at 6 Arthur Street, Colchester, Essex.
1911 Census shows that she was 13 years of age, born in Colchester, Essex and South Shields, living in Co. Durham.
