Male Horace Arthur Goody

Horace was born in 1879.  Horace's father was Mark James Goody and his mother was Charlotte Golding.  His paternal grandparents were Isaac Goody and Phoebe Brett. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, Herbert, Thomas, Edgar, Alfred, Frederick, Elizabeth, Isabella and Ida.  He was the seventh oldest of the ten children.

General Notes

Parish records show that he was christened at St Margarets Church, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex on 4th May 1879 by Horace J Atkins.  Birth was registered between Jan-Mar 1879 in Halstead Registration District.
1881 Census shows that he was 2 years of age born in Tilbury and living at Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1891 Census shows that he was 12 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1901 Census shows that he was 22 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and serving onboard HMS Cambridge which was berthed in Devonport and Hamoaze, Cornwall.
1911 Census shows that he was 31 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and staying with his sister and brother in law, Bertram Hulme on the night of the census at 72 Lloyd Road, Walthamstow, Essex.
1935 National Probate and Wills records show that probate was awarded to Sarah Goody, widow on 22nd March for effects valued at £215 12s 11d.

Occupation Details

1901 Census shows that he was an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy.

Death Notes

Death was registered between Jan-Mar 1935 in Romford Registration District.
He was residing at 20 Meadway, Ilford, Essex at the time of his death. Died at the age of 56 on February 21st, 1935.

Horace's family with Sarah Troy

Horace and Sarah were married in 1911.  They had a daughter named Irene.
Marriage was registered between Oct-Dec 1911 in Dartford Registration District.
