1841 Census shows that he was 20 years of age and living in Chappel, Essex.
1851 Census shows that he was 26 years of age, born in Chapel, Essex and living Nr Brook Farm, Chapel, Essex. The surname is shown as GOODEY in this census.
1861 Census shows that he was 40 years of age, born in Chappel, Essex and living at Farm House, Moor Road, Great Tey, Essex. The census shows the surname as GOODEY.
1871 Census shows that he was 50 years of age, born in Chapple, Essex and living in Aldham Road Moore Farm, Great Tey, Essex under the surname GOODEY. This census also shows that he has two sons living with him, Bob aged 14 born in Chapple, Essex and Francis aged 10 born in Great Tey, Essex.
1872 National Probate and Will records show the following:

Administration of the effects of Jeffery Goodey lat of Great Tey in the County of Essex Fadmer wo died 2 February at Great Tey was granted at the Principal Registry to Sarah Goodey of 12 Harding-street Upper-street Islington in the County of Middlesex Widow the Relict. Effects under £50. Resworn at the Principal Registry Under £200.

Death was registered between Jan-Mar 1872 in Lexden Registration District at 53 years of age.  His name is spelt JEFFREY GOODY. Died at the age of 52 in 1872. Jeffery and Sarah were married in 1845.  They had three sons and four daughters, named William, Jeffery, James, Mary, Selina, Elizabeth and Sarah.
