1861 Census shows that he was 40 years of age, born in Chappel, Essex and living at Farm House, Moor Road, Great Tey, Essex. The census shows the surname as GOODEY.
1871 Census shows that he was 50 years of age, born in Chapple, Essex and living in Aldham Road Moore Farm, Great Tey, Essex under the surname GOODEY. This census also shows that he has two sons living with him, Bob aged 14 born in Chapple, Essex and Francis aged 10 born in Great Tey, Essex.
