Edwin Brandon Goody and her mother was
Grace Margaret Cowley. Her paternal grandparents were
Daniel Goody and
Sarah Simpson Wood. She had a brother and a sister, named
Albert and
Edith. She is the youngest of the three children.

1881 Census shows she was staying with her Uncle Alfred and Aunt Mary at 1 Ewing Street, Mile End Old Town, London.
