1881 Census states he was 66 years of age, born in Belchamp St Pauls, Essex and living at Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex.
1883 National Probate and Wills records show that probate was awarded to Ann Horsley Goody on 25th October for effects valued at £298 11s 6d.
