Richard was born in 1794. Richard's mother was
Sarah Goody. His maternal grandparents were
William Goody and
Sarah Croply. He had a sister named
Hannah. He was the older of the two children.
Parish records show that he was christened in St Margarets Church, Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex on 9th March 1794 and that he was the baseborn son of Sarah Goody.
1841 Census shows that he was 45 years of age and living in Ridgewell, Essex.
1851 Census shows that he was 60 years of age, born in Tilbury Juxta Clare, Essex and living in Ridgewell, Essex.
We believe there was an error made in the 1841 Census where his age is shown as 45 years which is a difference of 5 years to the 1851 Census.
