Male Edward Goodey

Edward was born in 1849.  Edward's father was Thomas Goody and his mother was Elizabeth Sergeant.  His paternal grandparents were William Goody and Elizabeth Church. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Thomas, Frederick, Charles, Henry, David, Elizabeth, Susanna, Mary Ann, Sophia and Emma.  He was the tenth oldest of the twelve children.

Birth was registered between Oct-Dec 1849 in Halstead Registration District.
Parish records show that he was christened at St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex by J J Griffith on 1st March 1852 at the same time as his brothers and sisters.
1851 Census shows that he was 2 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living at 127 High Street, Halstead, Essex.
1861 Census shows he was 11 years of age, born in Halstead, living in Colchester Road, Halstead and his surname as Goody.
1881 Census shows that he was 30 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living at 2 St Peters Street, London.
1891 Census shows that he was 40 years of age and living in Leyton, West Ham, Essex.
1901 Census shows he was living at 271 Odessa Road, Cann Hall, Wanstead, Essex.
1898-9 Essex Directory shows that he was 50 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living at 271 Odessa Road, Cann Hall, Wanstead, Essex.
1911 Census shows that he was 62 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living in West Ham, Essex.

Death Notes

Death was registered between April-June 1934 in West Ham Registration District at 85 years of age. Died at the age of 85 in 1934.

Edward's family with Margaret Toomey

Edward and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on March 11th, 1877.  They had four sons and five daughters, named Edward, Leonard, Stanley, Harold, Edith, Lilian, Margaret, Hilda and Olive.
Marriage was registered between Jan-Mar 1877 in Mile End Registration District.
Parish records show that they were married in St Thomas Church, Stepney on 11th March 1877 by Arthur W Cribb, Vicar.
They were both residing at 15 James Street, Stepney at the time of their marriage.
