Female Emma Goody

Emma was born in 1828.  Emma's father was William Goody and her mother was Elizabeth Church.  Her paternal grandparents were William Goody and Elizabeth Pepper. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, Henry, Henry, Edward, Frederic, Elizabeth and Susanna.  She was the youngest of the nine children.

General Notes

Parish records show that she was christened in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex on 8th April 1828 by William Adams.  The actual date of birth is not recorded in the baptism register.  Her father, William, was a Bricklayer at the time.
1841 Census shows that she was 14 years of age and living in the Halstead, Risbridge and Sudbury District.
1851 Census shows that she was 24 years of age, born in Halstead, Essex and living with her father and son at 138 High Street, Halstead, Essex.  It also shows that she was a widow.
