Henry Goody
Henry was born in 1814. Henry's father was
William Goody and his mother was
Elizabeth Church. His paternal grandparents were
William Goody and
Elizabeth Pepper. He had five brothers and three sisters, named

Henry,
Edward,
Frederic,
Elizabeth,
Susanna and
Emma. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
Parish records show that he was christened on 12th April 1814 in St Andrews Church, Halstead, Essex by John Thomas Nottidge. The actual date of birth is not recorded in the baptism register. His father, William, was a Bricklayer at the time.
